Many Republicans partnered with the Trump Administration in creating and repeating falsehoods that reduced mask usage and increased vaccine resistance. Comprehensively the actions taken by the Trump Administration to fight the pandemic, didn’t work. Some of those Republicans who trumpeted the administration’s lies cut in line to get vaccinated. These Republicans were responsible for numerous childish stunts mocking the pandemic and mask usage in particular. During the presidential campaign cities forced to host Trump campaign rallies regularly saw surges in Covid cases in the weeks following the rally. Former presidential candidate Herman Cain fell victim to one of these super spreader events for Donald Trump.
